Nicole Lane, Intergalactic

A balance between the real and manufactured reality transfer themselves onto Nicole Lane's photographs as our intergalactic signs meet imitated star structures in the sky. The polaroid process opens up a black hole for our thoughts and feelings as we battle with whats real or not. It is this despondent process that struggles and squirms from reflecting reality, always throwing us a curve ball to attempt to catch. Their abstract qualities are what make them beautiful, for perhaps their original subject could not rustle our feelings like the mistakes may. For their qualities as pictures rely on the haphazard nature of the process.

We are plonked into empty space as our attention turns to abandoned signage, galactic in design, as if we have walked into a theme park relative to Pizza Planet. Everything lying there, rattling in the wind. Leaving us stuck and stumped.
